ACEC of TN Scholarships Awarded

University of Tennessee-Knoxville engineering student Caleb Drummer has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from ACEC of Tennessee. Drummer is expected to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in May 2014.  He maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average, has won multiple awards, and is highly respected by faculty. In fact, Drummer’s advisor, Dr. Edwin Burdette, describes him as “one of the most promising students that I have taught in a half-century of teaching.” Drummer will now be eligible to compete for national ACEC scholarships in the fall with award amounts as high as $10,000.

Nicholas True, a University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Mechanical Engineering student, has also received a $1,000 scholarship from ACEC of Tennessee. He is from Georgetown, TN. His 4.0 grade point average resulted in membership in the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Professor and Assistant Dean Cecelia Wigal said True “is a leader but also a team member - he knows where it is needed by the team and he follows when he knows another’s leadership skills are more needed than his.” Nick True will also be considered for national scholarships.
